What Brought You To Pacifica?

In 1987 I worked on a state of the art building and was struck by the disconnect of architecture with the human psyche. I searched everywhere to find courses in architectural psychology until Pacifica suggested I research the subject myself. The title of my MA thesis was "House with Soul." What I did not expect was getting my whole life reexamined in the process of obtaining the obligatory MA in Counseling Psychology. Ten years later, the new DP program offered the chance to go deeper and expand the subject with my (partialy filmed) dissertation, Places (72 minutes film + 300 pages text!).

How Has Your Pacifica Degree Served You Professionally In Your Occupation/Vocation?

Although the degrees were important to me to top off a checkered international education, they were secondary to the 360 degree and 100 feet deep vision I developed while at Pacifica. Now I always look at the big picture.

What Was The Meaningful Or Memorable Part Of The Pacifica Experience For You?

— A deep, rare bond with friends of all persuasions that is still intact 8 years after graduation.

—The art projects asking us to frame our responses to lectures in forms other than written papers.

—The beauty of the Lambert Campus, a teacher as eloquent as James Hillman.

—The ritual and feast our classmate Joan organized in 2000 after our final examinations.

Places: An Exploration of Physical Environments and Their Influence on Intrapsychic Processes (The DVD of the Film Project "Dialogues with Home, Land, the Earth" is the heart of the dissertation)

Kiri Chooses A Life (2006, ISBN 13:978-0-595-36870-9), a reincarnation novel, intended to pass on some Pacifica perspectives to the next generation.
